... Heat advisory now in effect until 8 PM CDT Monday...

* temperature... highs from 105 in the Permian Basin to 114 in The Big
Bend.

* Impacts... if you plan to be outside, avoid prolonged exposure
or strenuous physical activity. Drink plenty of non-alcoholic
or non- caffeinated beverages. Wear lightweight,
light-colored, loose- fitting clothing, a hat to shield
yourself from the sun, and use a sunscreen to reduce possible
sunburn. The elderly, very Young, sick and persons with heart
conditions are most at risk in extreme heat.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
