* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
southwestern Eddy County in southeastern New Mexico...

* until 930 am MDT

* at 635 am MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Carlsbad, Queen, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Whites City,
and Cavern City Air Terminal.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

* until 915 am MDT

* at 619 am MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Carlsbad, Loving, Loco Hills, Avalon, Living Desert State Park,
Malaga, Carlsbad north, Whites City, Brantley Lake State Park,
Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Lea County zip Franklin Memorial
Airport, Otis, Cavern City Air Terminal and Lake Avalon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
