Watches & Warnings

High Wind Warning
Issued: 2:59 PM PDT Mar. 30, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM PDT this
evening...

* timing: strong winds behind a cold front will continue through
early evening before diminishing some.

* Winds: through early evening north to northwest winds 30 to 40
mph with gusts to 60 mph. Gusts up to 75 mph in wind prone
locations including portions of US-395 in Mono County and US-95
near Walker Lake. Sierra ridge gusts up to 110 mph. Winds will
diminish later this evening but gusts 30 to 40 mph remain likely
through Friday morning.

* Impacts: strong Crosswinds will produce dangerous travel
conditions with restrictions likely for high profile
vehicles. Expect areas of turbulence and wind shear for
aviation, and choppy waters on area lakes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

The strong winds are here now, it's too late to prepare. If
driving around Nevada or the eastern Sierra, check Road conditions
with ndot or caltrans before leaving.
