... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am PST
Monday...

* locations... southern Sierra Nevada above 4000 feet.

* Hazard types... heavy snow and blowing snow.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 2 to 4 feet.

* Winds... southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.

* Timing... snow will continue over the Sierra as an intense storm
moves through the region. The heaviest snowfall will fall
through this evening. Snow levels will be around 6000 feet
during the afternoon... then lowering overnight to near 3000 feet
by Monday morning.

* Impacts... the heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to
blowing snow... reduced visibility... and additional power
outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 10:19 PM PST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until
1130 PM PST for central Fresno... south central Mariposa... central
Madera and north central Tulare counties...

At 1018 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the
advisory area. High water flows have been reported along the North
Fork of Willow Creek.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Oakhurst, Yosemite lakes, Bootjack, Three Rivers, Mariposa, Metcalf
Gap, shadequarter mtn, Mountain Rest, Fence Meadow, Grant Grove, Big
Meadows, Case Mountain, Shaver Lake, Lodgepole, Coarsegold, Squaw
Valley, Pinehurst, Hurley, Auberry and trimmer Springs.
