The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Wind Chill
Advisory... which is in effect until midnight akst tonight.

* Location... north of Noatak.

* Wind chill values... to 50 below.

* Timing... very cold wind chills will continue through tonight.
Wind chills will become less severe after midnight as winds
decrease.

* Impacts... exposed flesh will freeze in a short time resulting
in frostbite.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that low wind chills with sustained
wind speeds of 15 mph or more are occurring or expected. If
outdoors... cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite.

inland valleys of the western interior and West Coast of
Alaska with ice fog in many locations. Coastal locations are in
the teens and 20s below zero. Temperatures will remain this cold
through Thursday... with a slight increase in temperatures by the
weekend.
