... Flood Watch in effect from this evening through Thursday
afternoon...

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of Maine and northern New Hampshire,
including the following areas, in Maine, Central Somerset,
Kennebec, northern Franklin, northern Oxford, southern
Franklin, southern Oxford, and southern Somerset. In northern
New Hampshire, northern Carroll, northern Coos, northern
Grafton, southern Carroll, southern Coos, and southern
Grafton.

* From this evening through Thursday afternoon.

* The combination of melting snow and rain arriving today and
tonight will causes rises on area rivers. Minor flooding is
possible especially in tributaries of the larger rivers flowing
east out of the mountains.

* Flooding, if it were to occur, will be minor, only affecting the
most vulnerable areas near the rivers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
