... Flood Watch in effect through late tonight...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of central Illinois, east central
Illinois, and west central Illinois, including the following
areas, in central Illinois, De Witt, Logan, Macon, Marshall,
Mason, McLean, Menard, Peoria, Piatt, Sangamon, Tazewell, and
Woodford. In east central Illinois, Champaign, Douglas, Edgar,
Moultrie, and Vermilion. In west central Illinois, Cass,
Fulton, Morgan, Schuyler, and Scott.

* Through late tonight

* additional moderate to heavy rainfall is expected through
tonight over areas that have already received significant rains
during the past 24 hours.

* This additional rainfall will cause flooding of area rivers and
streams across central through east central Illinois.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
