Synopsis...
a cool dome of high pressure...moving eastward across the upper
Midwest...ridges equatorward.
The Bermuda high pressure system will become re-established across
the northwest Gulf of Mexico on Sunday.
Further-up...a deep Texas trough...embedded in the southern stream
of the midlatitude westerlies...will travel eastward...exiting
Louisiana by Sunday evening.
Discussion...
the Texas trough continues to eject shortwaves across southeast
Texas and into Louisiana. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are
firing along along the remains of a backdoor front system...which
extends from the lakes region through Marsh Island.
The convective activity will be coming to an end this evening.
Otherwise...the overnight temperatures will be running a few
degrees above normal for late may.
