Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 4:17 PM AKDT on June 19, 2013

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a

* Flood Advisory for melting snow in...
the Susitna Valley along the yentna river at Lake Creek

* until 1000 am akdt Friday

* the very warm temperatures over the last week have caused
significant snowmelt runoff in the western Susitna area. Lake
creekon the yentna river has been rising steadily since early this
week and is currently at 19.9 ft. This is 0.6 ft below the 20.5 ft
floodstage. It is forecast to rise above flood stage late tonight or
early tomorrow morning before cresting near 20.7 feet Thursday
afternoon.

* There was a significant amount of debris reported in the river and
boating could be hazardous. At forecast levels anglers inn & King
Point lodges will likely have water in several Cabins.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remain cautious when in low-lying areas... and report any minor
flooding to your law enforcement agency. They will relay your report
to the National Weather Service forecast office in Anchorage.

... More record temperatures for Valdez...

On tuesady June 18 the weather servise office in Valdez recorded a
new record high of 82 degrees. This is the third day in a row that a
new record high has been reached... including the all time record of
90 reached on 17 June. The June 18 record for the highest low
temperature was also set at 56 degrees... the old record was 53 from
1981.
