... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 6 PM akst

The Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until 6 PM akst

* Location... east of McGrath.

* Snow... with an additional 6 to 18 inches through Thursday. The
heaviest snow will be along the Alaska Range.

* Freezing rain... with up to one quarter inch of ice accumulation.

* Timing... periods of heavy snow and freezing rain will continue
through Thursday.

* Impacts... travel and outdoor activities will be difficult. Ice
accumulation on power lines and tree branches may cause power

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that one or more winter weather
hazards are expected to cause travel difficulties.

... Record snow fall in Bettles for November 24...

Bettles received a record 4.7 inches of snow on Tuesday. This
breaks the old record for November 24 of 3.6 inches set in 1970.
