Blizzard Warning
Statement as of 4:07 AM CST on March 03, 2015

... Blizzard Warning remains in effect from 11 am this morning to
6 PM CST this evening...

* timing... worst conditions from late this morning through this
afternoon.

* Accumulations... 1 to 3 inches of snow... with highest amounts
north of a line from Brookings... to Ivanhoe and Marshall.

* Wind and visibility... north to northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph
will be common... with some gusts around 50 mph possible in the
late morning and early afternoon. The combination of strong
winds and falling snow will reduce visibility to a half mile or
less at times... especially in open areas. Drifting snow will
also impact travel through the afternoon.

* Wind chill values... wind chill values will fall to 10 to 15
below zero by late afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If
you must travel... have a winter survival kit with you. If you get
stranded... stay with your vehicle.
