... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 am CDT Wednesday...
A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 am CDT Wednesday.
* Timing: a very strong cold front will advance toward Kansas City
early this evening... reaching I-70 by 6 PM. Winds will abruptly
shift into the northeast behind the front... with speeds increasing
rapidly between 5 and 7 PM. Strong and gusty north winds are will
continue through around 1 am before subsiding slightly Wednesday
* Winds: sustained northeast winds will become north at 25 to 30
mph early this evening... with gusts to near 45 mph likely.
Strong winds will continue through 1 am... before diminishing
slightly Wednesday morning.
* Impacts: winds of this magnitude can make driving extremely
difficult on east-west roadways... especially for high profile
vehicles. In addition... where rain changes to snow across
north central Missouri... these winds will reduce visibilities
to near zero at times later this evening.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of at least 30 mph are expected
with gusts to 45 mph. Winds this strong can make driving
