...Flash Flood Watch in effect through Thursday morning...

The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Iowa and Nebraska... including the following areas...in Iowa...Fremont...Harrison... Mills...Monona...Montgomery...Page...Pottawattamie and Shelby. In Nebraska...Boone...Burt...Butler...Cass...Colfax... Cuming... Dodge...Douglas...Lancaster...Madison...Otoe... Pierce... Platte...Saline...Sarpy...Saunders...Seward... Stanton... Thurston...Washington and Wayne.

* Through Thursday morning

* thunderstorms will increase in coverage overnight with locally heavy rain.

* Heavy rain in excess of 1 to 2 inches an hour is possible overnight. A large area should to 1 to 2 inch amounts with locally higher amounts in excess of this. As a result...flash flooding will be possible through Thursday morning...especially in flood prone areas and near streams and rivers.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
