A broad area of light to moderate rain will continue to impact portions of the eastern plains through the morning hours. Movement will be to the north northwest. Through 1100 am MDT...moderate rain will be most common from central and western San Miguel County then south to Guadalupe...eastern Torrance...eastern Lincoln...De Baca and Chaves counties. This activity will impact Interstate 40 from Moriarty through Santa Rosa to Newkirk with heavier showers moving in around 1000 am MDT. Additional areas impacted include Pastura...Vaughn...Ramon...Fort Sumner and Yeso. A second area of showers will continue over southeastern Lincoln and western Chaves counties including Ruidoso...Hondo...Elk and Roswell. Accumulations will range from around one tenth of an inch in light showers to local areas of half an inch to an inch in an hour. Expect occasional sudden decreases in visibility in areas of rain and or fog...especially around the Sierra Blanca Airport...as well as potential ponding on roadways. Runoff could cause increased flows in low lying areas...arroyos...low water crossings and other drainages.
