Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 3:54 AM EST Feb. 14, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight tonight to 4 am
EST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for the Virginia Piedmont... which is in effect from
midnight tonight to 4 am EST Tuesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no
longer in effect.

* Areas affected: central Virginia Piedmont.

* Hazards: snow... sleet and freezing rain.

* Accumulations: three to four inches of snow... and up two tenths
of an inch of ice.

* Temperatures: lows Sunday night around 20. Highs late Monday in
the lower 30s... .rising to the mid 30s late Monday night.

* Timing: snow overspreading the area late Sunday evening... then
continuing through the morning hours Monday. The snow is
expected to change to sleet and freezing rain Monday afternoon
and evening before changing to all rain late Monday night.

* Impacts: hazardous travel due to snow and ice covered roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
