Washington Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Statement
Statement as of 1:10 PM CDT on July 22, 2014

...Very warm and humid conditions this afternoon and evening...

Very warm and humid conditions have settled into southern Wisconsin ahead of an approaching cold front. Temperatures have risen into the middle 80s early this afternoon. They should continue to rise into the upper 80s to lower 90s by late afternoon.

Meanwhile...southwest breezes have carried humid air into southern Wisconsin. Dewpoints have risen into the 70 to 75 degree range. The combination of very warm temperatures and humidity will cause heat index values to rise into the 95 to 100 degree range this afternoon as well. As of early this afternoon...the heat index ranged from the middle 80s to middle 90s across southern Wisconsin.

This will be the warmest and most humid day of the year so far. Remember your hot weather rules. If you are working outside...take more frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.
