Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning can see that band of high whispys passed over the northern and central sea late yesterday. I’d imagine that you would not even notice them, I didn’t. The skies appear to be clear this morning though.
Looking south to the cape I can see that a small plume has broken off the ITCZ/Monsoon trough and has been delivering some cloudiness to the cape area and the southern crossing for the past 24 hours. This morning the IR image is showing the plume thinning but the water vapor imagery is showing more moisture is on the way so it looks like that region will continue to see some cloudiness today.
Further south the Gulf of Tehuantepec continues to have mild southerlies in the 12-14 knot ranges today and the forecast is much the same for the 3-day forecast period.
Looking out into the Eastern Pacific basin and along the ITCZ/Monsoon trough I can see there are dozens of thunderbumpers working from around Panama all the way out to around 150W
That’s it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where in the Great Northwest the back side of a system that came ashore yesterday will continue to pull moisture in from the Pacific supporting lingering showers in the Great Northwest this morning.
Elsewhere a ridge of high pressure builds northward from the southwest allowing warm and dry air to return to the west coast.
Northern California warm and dry today.
Southern California will see less of a marine layer today and into the middle of next week. It too will be warm and dry.
Looking now over to the southwest where above normal temperatures will continue through tomorrow as high pressure remains over the region. Temperatures will be in the high 90s over the lower deserts.
Next week will see slightly lower temperatures as a series of weather systems move into the western states bringing a slight chance of some thunderbumper activity in the higher terrain of south central Arizona Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ll see?
That’s what is going on to the north of us, back on this side of the Fence the northern sea will continue to see moderate southerlies for the next 3 days. The central sea to Concepcion Bay will see moderate northerlies Puerto Escondido south to La Paz moderate southerlies and the East Cape moderate to light NW winds for the 3-day forecast period.
So it looks like the LoretoFest will be enjoying great spring weather again this year.
Temperatures continued to climb a few degrees yesterday and today will see temperatures in the high 80s to the mid 90s.
If last night’s preview of the full moon in any indication of tonight’s Super Moon it should be quite a show. You always here me say, “Don’t forget to howl” when we have a full moon. Well, don’t forget to howl tonight! It sort of brings out the kid in you. Dig deep and give out a primeval howl. I’ve found that some folks even giggle a little after a good howl. Give it a try.
