Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that we have had another 24 hours of cloudless skies over the Sea of Cortez.
Looking south to along the Mexican Riviera I can see that from about Manzanillo south they have seen a few scattered clouds drift over the region and that will continue all day.
These are coming from convection along the ITCZ/Monsoon trough. Small plumes break off from the zone and drift toward the mainland.
Again this morning the ITCZ/Monsoon trough is very active. A heavy line of thunderbumpers stretch out from around Guatemala to well out in the Eastern Pacific basin.
I can see a large thunderbumper working on the SW corner of the Tehuantepec this morning. Each morning for the past several days there has been heavy thunderbumper activity along the coast from this point south to blanket the Guatemala and San Salvador coast line.
The Tehuantepec however remains calm with moderate southerlies throughout the 3-day forecast period.
That’s about it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where high pressure over the western conus is bringing warm temperatures and lots of sunshine to the entire west coast.
In southern California a closed low moving out of Southern California into Arizona last night and at around 5am it was over the lower Colorado River Valley. It is traveling pretty much along the international border and looks like it is drifting across the border into Mexico. It is drawing some clouds with it from the west and the Tucson area should start to see these later this morning. Very low humidity readings are over most of Arizona. Humidity readings are in the low teens and into single digits so fire danger is present.
There is still a chance of some high elevation thunderbumpers tomorrow and Thursday before the low exits to the east on Thursday. They could see some dry lightning as this front passed though further enhancing the fire dangers in the southwest.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the northern Sea will see brisk winds to 20 knots today as that low passes to the north. Tomorrow and Thursday the winds will be back in the moderate ranges.
The central Sea should see moderate NE winds over the 3 day period.
The southern Sea will see very moderate WSW today and the next 2 days moderate NW winds.
Temperature-wise: Most locations in the Sea will see a few degrees of cooling today with the temperatures in the high 80s to the low 90s.
