A nice blob of tropical moisture moved slowly over my island yesterday and gave me nearly 2" of precip. I was able to spend most of the day doing things other than irrigate! I hope for more rainfall as the rainy season approaches.
I am also watching Tropical Storm Ida in the Gulf of Mexico and its projected path...turning back south before it reaches the shores of the Florida panhandle! Reminds me of Hurricane Jeanne of a few years ago as she did a couple of 360 degree turns before going back to the southwest and up into the Gulf of Mexico and, eventually across the central portion of the Florida peninisula. Just as though some form of control by humans was at the helm.
Maybe climate change is human-caused after all??? I tend to believe it.

So, the twice daily overhead irrigation continues to take place. We should now be going into our rainy season but, so far, there are no signs that it will happen.

Another one of those dry periods. It should start to change as we get closer to the Winter Solstice when the lows that march eastward across the North Pacific draw up humid, rainy air from the Equator. That will be nice.

Now it is time, until Full Moon, to do what planting of new stuff I wish to plant for the rest of the year. I do not plant much of anything during the short-day period of the year. The plants seem to like being started when the day length is increasing. So, I stick to that 'unwritten' rule and have success. Some decent rain today as well. Mostly of the orographic variety as the trades are virtually nonexistent.

Still have to do some work as rainfall has been very light so irrigation is necessary.
