Storm System rolling through

The forecast frontal system is over the CSRA and brining rain and high winds. Wind speeds have topped 43 mph around the area, Gracewood, Daniel Field, Bush Field.
The Gracewood Weather server pipes the NWS weather radio onto the Internet through WeatherUnderground providing access to the 24/7 weather broadcast via the Internet. The service is accessible at Link This evening a record number of listeners were connected - 25 at one time for a while. Typically I see only 2 or 3 listeners at a time.
While there is a tornado watch in effect, there have been, up to this point, no tornado reports, thankfully.

Wind advisory

Wind advisory alerts us to the possibilities of damaging winds in the CSRA. The passing storm front looks to cause some high readings on the anemometer. Hopefully that is all that gets "raised."

Happy New Year to all the readers. CSRA is experiencing it usual winter weather of ups and downs - warm one day, cold a day or two later. May the New Year bring us favorable rain, lots of sunshine and perhaps a snow fall or two, just for the "kid" inside of us all. Ciao.

First Day of Winter

Not often that Augusta has winter cold on the first day of winter. Temperatures are cool enough this evening for us to have a fire in our living room fireplace without overheating the room. While I don't mind missing the blizzards happening up north, a little freeze around here is a nice touch.

Fall Weather

Am enjoying the cooler temperatures of the autumnal weather. With clocks bumped back an hour now, early darkness makes it harder to get out for a walk in the fall colors. Won't be long before all the leaves are on the ground. Thanksgiving just around the corner.
