Spring can have long cool unsettled period,but this usually happens in April or early May.A strong -NAO is setting up this week,which set up blocking out in the Atlantic.What this does is create an upper low which sit and spin over the great lakes,which will in turn send various troughs and lows up along the east coast,and bring cool atlantic moisture.
To start off a cold front will sweep through tomorrow bringing heavy rains for most of the day,severe weather could occur in NY,Penn. and mid-atlantic which will be in the warm sector of this system.It should dry out somewhat Sat. night and Sunday,then the upper low takes over for most of next week,with a strong low pressure forming east of New England which may turn into a gale system spinning in showers and windy conditions off the cold atlantic.Does not look like nice stretch of weather through next week,so June will start out much below normal.May continued the string of above normal weather, finishing a little over 3 degrees above normal.
Although June looks to start out below normal,long range indicates we should get back into some warmer weather by next weekend and beyond.We;ll have to wait and see.

Today is nothing like that day,we have clear skies low humidity and cool temps,but comfortable.
Gotten a sluggish, late start to posting due to taking in some of the glorious weather outside. This drier, cooler air mass, along with cloudless blue, sunny skies makes me feel so sleepy, but grateful. LOL!
Hard to believe that it's been one year to the day that parts of Central Mass. was hard hit by that vicious tornado. Sad that so many are still having such difficulties in either recovering or rebuilding. Such is life these days and painful in that some home insurance agencies still use disgusting tactics to impede or prevent the process.
Hope that you can enjoy the better part of this weekend before a week of gloomy, damp, chilly weather sets in. I keep forgetting that summer has yet to arrive due to unprecedented summer-like heat having arrived so early in spring. Let's hope that those heavy rains, you mentioned above and below, manage to avoid those areas of NY, VT and, especially, those parts of Keane and Alstead, NH which were flooded out earlier in the week. Many are still stranded due to roads and bridges being knocked out and will have to wait weeks before any work crews can rebuild.
One can only hope that we will miraculously have a lovely weather repeat of last summer. Although, I can certainly do without those contractors of ours having taken up camp throughout most of it and that weeks long marauding skunk that hung around our home. LOL! Eau de Pew!!!

Im hoping our construction will be done a lot quicker,but you never know with contractors.
Trying to see where the heavies bands of rain are going to set up tomorrow,but they can't seem to settle on one place,they are leaning toward NE Mass to SW NH,but they really don't know.

A RIP CURRENT...SOMETIMES MISTAKENLY CALLED AN UNDERTOW...IS A
STRONG BUT NARROW CURRENT OF WATER FLOWING FROM THE BEACH TO THE
SURF ZONE. IT CAN RAPIDLY CARRY A SWIMMER INTO DEEPER WATER AND
EXHAUST AN INDIVIDUAL TRYING TO SWIM AGAINST IT.
IF YOU ARE A POOR SWIMMER AND ARE CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...SWIM
PARALLEL TO THE BEACH UNTIL OUT OF ITS PULL. ANOTHER MEANS OF
ESCAPE FOR THOSE WHO ARE GOOD SWIMMERS IS TO RIDE THE CURRENT OUT
BEYOND THE SURF ZONE WHERE THE RIP CURRENT DISSIPATES...THEN SWIM
TOWARD SHORE OUTSIDE THE EFFECT OF THE NARROW RIP CURRENT.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SWIM BACK TO SHORE DIRECTLY AGAINST THE
CURRENT...IT CAN EXHAUST AND DROWN EVEN THE STRONGEST SWIMMER.
HEED THE ADVICE OF THE BEACH PATROL AND SWIM ONLY AT GUARDED
BEACHES. WATCH YOUR CHILDREN. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS NEAR PIERS
AND JETTIES WHERE RIP CURRENTS CAN BE ENHANCED.
IN ADDITION...VIEWERS OF LARGE SURF SHOULD BE IN SAFE AREAS WELL
AWAY FROM POSSIBLE SPLASH OVER. INDIVIDUAL WAVES MAY BE MORE THAN
TWICE THE SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT...WHICH CAN SWEEP A PERSON INTO
THE WATER FROM WHAT MAY SEEM TO BE A SAFE VIEWING AREA. FALLING
INTO THE TURBULENT AND SOMETIMES ROCKY WATERS CAN RESULT IN
INJURY THAT REDUCES THE CHANCE OF SURVIVAL.
Were you planning on visiting a beach or traveling near to any of the Northeastern coastlines this weekend? Hope not! I don't think the forecasted weekend weather and temps will induce many beach goers, etc. Glad I don't live anywhere near the ocean! There was a time I'd give anything to do so but, these days, I'm happy living well enough inland or away from any high surfs produced by storms or hurricanes.
