Even taking an a Friday doesn't seem to make the weekend any longer. Why is that?Another busy weekend. Fininshing touches on the family room, looking really good. Already moving into the next project the kitchen. Stripping off the wall paper this weekend, walls are going to need a lot of week,if I'm going to paint them.
The weather certainly has that feel of fall to it.Lots of clouds from a couple of ocean lows slipping out beneath us,but is suppose to warm up toward the end of the week and probaly right through the weekend.
A couple invests out in the Atlantic to keep an eye on.Very serious wild fires out west both in northern California and also in Idaho. Seems like this fire seasn has been worse then most.
Redsox?Ahhh never mind. Patriots play their second preseason tonight against the Eagles, and they will be honoring local Olympic heros during the game.
So another busy week ahead. As usual not enough time to do everything.

A week ago today my hubby had a setback and developed a mild case of pneumonia. He had begun running a persistent low-grade fever and cough, so I took him into the doctor's office last Wednesday for an evaluation and tests. My jaw kind of dropped, as he had received, what I thought to be, a preventative pneumonia shot last November during his annual exam. I found out that it only reduces, but not eliminates the risk of contracting it.
He's seemingly doing much better now after completing his 5 day course of Azithromycin (Z-Pac) and continuing 10 days of Amoxicillin (Penicillin). He returns to the doctor's office on Thursday for a follow-up and must wait nearly a month before his next chest xray to insure the meds took full effect.
What a tumultuous past month this has been! Hope that the remainder of this miserable summer picks up and that our fall and winter months will be kinder to us all.
On another sad note, I just read where former 60's singer Scott McKenzie passed away on Saturday, at age 73, from Guillain-Barre Syndrome, which attacks the central nervous system. I fondly remember his late 60's hit tune, "San Francisco", which I would play (45 rpm records - remember those Baby Boomers?) incessantly on my home stereo phonograph back in the day. It was written by former composer/singer, John Phillips, of the "Mamas and Papas". Thought I'd post it here as a tribute and reminiscence.
Hope your work week goes by smoothly and quickly and that you have enough energy left by the end of the week to resume that kitchen project just begun. Oy Vey!
This has been the summer I will want to surely forget, between the stress of our remodeling project and of course losing our beloved Prince its not a summer I will want to soon remember.
Was just thinking Mass,is this what getting older is all about?Going from one crisis to another?Lets hope not.
Anyway,I definitely remember Scott McKenzie one of those one hit wonders. What an awful way to lose your life.
Lets hope both of us can salvage a little time, whats left of our summer.
