Janetlee; Lady's Slippers are among my favorites, as well! We have many wild flowers but these are so rare now-a-days that I cherish the sight of them.

Foxxy; I'm glad that it made you smile! :-)

Hi Peace!

So beautiful - one of my fav flowers! They brought a big smile to my face this morning!
Quoting PeaceRiverBP:
Sandi; The blue flowers are irises; it's so nice to have so many flowers blooming, now. The rhododendrons are finally coming into bloom, too, and I've seen several Lady's Slippers growing wild in the woods. I love this time of year!

Ladys slippers were among my favorites of the wild flowers. We had an abundance of them on the farm when i was growing up, Also a lot of jack-in-the-pulpit and most favored was the wild violets. The only one of those we have here is the wild violet. 1 or of 3 isn't bad I guess since it is the favorite ;)

VVXGirl; So sorry I missed your post when I was here before- I'm just seeing it now for the first time! That's the second time I've caught a crow as I've taken my daily photo and totally unplanned!

I think it's interesting to watch the season's progress in a daily photo; please let me know if you do start a daily picture blog so I can follow along. :-)

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Yes, a month of rain has really helped things to green-up!

Thanks for stopping in! :-)

Nice job catching that bird on April 15th. I thought of doing the same thing with the progression of the sunset in our backyard. Not sure what day to begin...maybe i should start on the first day of summer...the longest day of the year.

My goodness, I go away for a few days & when I get back you have a green wall outside your window!
We spent last week down in Myrtle Beach at the State Park. I wish someone had mentioned it was bike week during that time. the hwys were full of Harleys. Needless to say we spent most of our time in the park, which was great for us. That is a wonderful camping spot and so close for us.
Hope your have a nice Holiday~~

Sandi; Wow! I love this progression of photos! Thanks so much!!!

My view is going to get monotonous pretty soon. That big, lush vine in the foreground is just a hint of things to come. Soon, the leaves will be full-sized and the view of the pond will be largely blocked by the trees. I still enjoy the view but once the green wall is in, there won't be much change until late summer.

Hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend and thanks again for the photos!

YES WE ARE!!! Lets start planning... The only difficulty is, that I need to have it in Palb Beach County, difficult to travel far when we have the shop open 7 days a week. Any ideas? I can lodge 3 peopole at my house, but unfortunately not with dogs... mine are jealous of hary intruders.

We'll get to it if we ask for ideas.

Sandi; We're just seeing our first sunshine in a while, too! What a pretty park! It looks like a very quiet place to relax or bring a picnic. Thanks for thinking of me! :-)

Finn; Yes, that was an unforgettable day- so fun! It's hard to believe that it was almost five years ago! Sammy was just a pup then and Paul's son Stephen was just a boy; he's so big now! We're overdue for another WUBA event!

Linda; Good morning! Yes, I do love Sandi's landscaping; she's done a wonderful job! I will be getting my vegetable garden going today, but I won't put in the tomatoes until TS Alberto goes by so I don't have to worry about them getting smashed or blown over in the storm. Everything else is started from seed, so they'll be okay, as long as they don't get washed away.

The job is still going well, thanks... fingers are crossed that it continues to go well. I brought home a new box of books deemed by my boss to be rejects, but there's lots of good stuff in there!

There are many jobs I wouldn't have the patience for, either, and that would be almost any job that deals with the public. I like to be in my own quiet, little world and just get the job done and later deal with people on my own terms. :-)

Hope you enjoy a lovely Sunday! Thanks for stopping in!

Morning, Beth! Isn't Sandi's garden beautiful? If I applied 1/100th of the attention to my patio she gives that garden, it might look nice, too. Don't hold your breath! (Although, I have determined to get out there and sweep and do a little repotting this morning. Good intentions, always.)

Any nice plans for today? How's the job coming? Still enjoying it? I'll bet so. It's getting hot enough here that my thoughts are drifting toward the pleasures of indoor work - but it's too late for a change now. Even if I took a part-time job somewhere, I've been ruined forever for organizational life. I think. Your situation is one I could deal with - but a greeter in WalMart? No way!

Karen; Hello! How are you? Yes, the trees will eventually get so full that I'll have to peek around them to see the water from my bedroom windows (the spot where these photos are taken from, but I do have a better view from my bathroom, kitchen and deck.... only I have to photograph from the one window that has no screen so there's no hash-mark across the picture! :-)

Hi Beth, that is just one view. When I moved in 20 years ago it was all grass - now I have "areas".

Linda; How nice to see your post here this morning! I was just thinking about you last night!

I'm glad to hear that your trees are greening up, too! After a long winter, we're really enjoying seeing lush foliage again. We've had at least 5" of rain in the last week, which has really helped the trees sprout.

I'm also glad to hear that your dermatologist gave you a good report other than that one spot that needs to be removed. I hope that Princess fares as well. :-)

I love having windows open, too, although it's still too cool to have them open all the time, at this point.

I've seen plenty of signs of the deer being around and have seen and heard huge flocks of wild turkeys, but I haven't seen the whole herd of deer, again. I look for them in the morning when I think of it.

I hope the varnishing gods are smiling down on you; keeping the bugs, other debris and rain drops out of your wet varnish and kissing the surface of your work with a special shine!

Have a great day!

You do have green! I've not been by for a few days - maybe since just before mothers' day - and things really have exploded. It's so good to see, and it's fun to have the January/February photos to look back on.

Our trees look wonderful. We've had enough rain that the ones that didn't die in the drought are doing pretty well. As a matter of fact, we just had a little shower tonight. Not much - about a quarter inch of rain, but since we got seven inches last weekend, having little showers like this on a regular basis is perfect.

I've been checking things off my list for about two weeks now. Today was my day to go to the dermatologist - one little spot needed to be taken off, but otherwise she says I don't look sundamaged at all, and am good for another year. That's very good to hear! Next up, the eye doctor. Tomorrow I'm taking Princess in to finally get her taken care of - and then it's just workworkwork until the next rain sets in.

For now, I'm going to open all the windows and enjoy the cool air that came with the rain - and the frogs! The cicadas have started, too - it's a little early for them, but everything seems to be early this year.

Have your deer been back?

Partially correct!

The flowers were grown and photographed by Pros... I made it into a collage for her last year, then this year used it to make the Mothers' day card :-)

My greenth has greened! lol

Sandi; Yes! We are starting to gradually see foliage!

I'm not always up that early, but I do tend to be an early riser. Sometimes I'm waiting for the sun to come up so I can take my morning photo.

We're expecting a nice weekend here, too; the first in a long time! I'm hoping I have time to do some work in my garden. :-) Do you have any special plans?

Old format, new format. Trouble uploading photos either way. Hiccups galore. With WU system unresponsiveness, I ended up with 3 copies of one photo recently. Then I deleted 2 of them. #3 still showed up as a thumbnail, but clicking on it yielded a blank page. Deleted that and uploaded yet again. Another problem, is it won't let me enter the location, but when I try to send it for approval, it demands a location which I still can't enter.

If you can't get a photo approved in a timely way, edit/add the details, even if it's only to uncheck a box and then recheck it. I did that twice on photos that went several hours without approval. And guess what? Approved within 5 minutes of doing the edit. My conclusion is things are getting stuck in limbo and need a nudge to rejoin the real world.

Quoting PeaceRiverBP:
* About photo uploading difficulties, I found that if I use the old format, it works.

I found that too, Beth.... although one "portrait" photo was still awaiting approving 24 hours later, so I deleted it and popped it through Flickr in less than one minute!!
