This is NOT the exact set of cams I wanted to post; the cam I liked best crashed and burned before I had a chance to post it! :( However, with all the interest in Isaac, and considering its' forecasted track, I thought that puting up the Perdido Key cam from Gulf Islands National Seashore would be appropriate.

I found a new cam by accident while goofing around Google Earth at home! I knew that Pikes Peak was the most accessible "fourteener" in the U.S., as they even have a race up the mountain to the top every year. What I didn't know is that they have a resturant and a lot of other stuff up there, including a set of webcams that make a panorama of the entire area!

I have my ten! Now I just have to set the blog up! Five all-new cams, three semi-regulars, and two everyday cams!
I really think you all will love the new one I just found!

Good evening! Last night of this work cycle; promises to be busy early, then slow late, so no promises on the new blog!

Cool, but still muggy here! Had some light rain earlier, but nothing major!

Hi, bug! I actually found a nice cam in Britain that was full of cows, but I thought a chicken cam was more fun! :)

Morning, Todd! Hope your Labor Day at work was a good one!

Alley, I saw a couple of deer this morning at the feeder cam. Maybe the cows were only temporary!

Janet, I believe the best time to see tractors pulling boats out of the surf is between 9-11PM, EDT. Tonight however, there's no tractors, therefore no boats! :(

our g'son posted a photo of himself today after hiking to the top of Pikes Peak yesterday. I told him he should have let us all know then stand in front of the webcam. Son was also hiking this week-end. He was in Olympic NF, hiked 10.5 miles of the Skokoish trail. That one was very strenuous. He had rubber legs yesterday;)

Still trying to catch those surf tractors in action

Hi Ylee. I guess the lady had the fence fixed or else the cows are coming at different times to snuffle up the food. Have not really seen any animals around the feeder for a few days, only the occasional birds so something is eating it.

Looking forward to your new blog. Will check back to see how you are doing. Have a great day.

Bawk, bawk, bawk!

Still no cows :-(

Didja see on the news that cows have been doing some B&E in Plaquemines Parish? Up on the porches and actually breaking into houses, to escape the flood waters? It was a bit unreal seeing a cow inside, looking out the window.

Hi, Sandi! The car's gone from Milos now! My first thought of your photo was that I didn't know there were mountains in M/K, but on closer examination, I realized I was actually looking at a roof, lol!

Good evening! Had a relaxing 24 hours off; now begins the nightshift phase of my work week! Isaac is keeping it drizzly, warm, and very humid; we've had maybe an inch of rain so far!

Work continues on the new blog; keep your fingers crossed! :)

Bug, they don't breed cows to read Shakesphere, do they? :)

GG, I've seen it rain at Milos a few times, mainly in the winter!

Janet, I hope your son knows what he's getting himself into by traveling up there in the dead of winter! There's a reason the main form of transportation at Denali during winter is sled dogs!

So your wife has you trained also. Max does breakfast and any grilling that gets done. I used to do it all but after he retird I "let" him take over some of it.
We are hot but not so muggyish here today. However it does look as if the skies are about to open up again!
I looked at that whole website from NZ hoping to see those tractors at work. That is what has me more than the cows. Seen one cow seen them all in my mind. I need to clue #1 son into the Denli cam seeing that he & wife are heading up that way for his job come Dec/Jan timeframe. He plans on driving!! He is on a forum with others that have been there/done that. But I do not think I would want to be one of them on first time around.
Wishing you an easy night at work

Nah, cows just stand their ground. The most they'll do is turn tail to the wind. It's why so many of them drown when it floods.

Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite!

Hi Ylee! When I went on your blog after I came back from vacation the first thing I saw was a cow on the feeder cam. I was so surprised I didn't know what to say! I thought to myself, wow things have really changed since I left, Lol!

Thanks for having the Esperanza cam, I am a big fan of Greenpeace and not a fan of Shell Oil!

sp, wherever they are, it's dark there when it's light here. Besides, the Arctic's days are still longer than their nights until Fall begins. Thanks for the links to the articles. The main identifier is the bridge construction in the background of the cam image. If we knew what bridge was being built, then we would know where Esperanza is moored!

Lol, bug!

Time to do some scouting!

I got curious about the whereabouts of Esperanza and went looking. Not surprising that they don't always say exactly where it is at a specific time, though the other two ships' cams do so. Anyway, Esperanza has been on an Arctic tour and very active, but that mission seems to be at an end, now.
Here's a map of the tour.
This story gives a summary of their activities and includes a cool undersea video.
And here's a news story summarizing the tour from a different perspective.

I think they must still be up there as there has not been time for them to get back even to Seattle since their last activity on the Shell rig. I wonder, Ylee, why you are so certain that they are not in the Arctic? It is dark for much of the cam time for this time of year. The cam is on British Standard Time. I dunno, lol. Just thought I'd share what I found and say thanks for the morning distraction :)

It's OK, bug, our newspaper gets Zits. Saw it yesterday!

That sounded odd, didn't it, lol!

Pros, first, thank you for posting that fine poem! Having said that, sometimes I'm guilty of scanning writing instead of reading it. When I got to the 4th line, I for a moment thought it said "Of smells to feet"! Eeeewwww! Anyway, I made myself go back and reread the whole thing, slowly! :)

"The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze. "

Speaking of hot and humid, perhaps I should get off the net and go mow the lawn. I start the long work week tomorrow and spouse has a pulled back muscle. "Lawn Patrol" is Tuesday and don't want a "nasty-gram" from the park.

White rabbits, Ylee

Well, shazam! I see something on your radar. Can we welcome you to the "I got rain from Isaac" club?

You can find rainfall amounts to date here: Tropical Depression Isaac Public Advisory #45

If you want that weather sticker, you may have some trouble getting it embedded. I did. It seems like there's excess code that shows up outside the image. I had the devil of a time getting just the sticker to show up, without the written gobbledegook. I'm just going to copy/paste all the image codes over, when I put up new entries.

Perhaps I could copy/paste the code to you via WUmail, so you won't have to fiddle around with it, like I did.

Good morning, and white rabbits to everyone! Daggone, it's hot and humid this morning! 78 when I left thr house for work this morning! Isaac's rain bands are finally showing up on the local radar; maybe by noon, we'll have rain!

Time allowing, I'll start scouting the Western Hemisphere for the next blog! Tomorrow night, I'll do the same for the Eastern, so that by my last night shift Monday night, I can put them all together!

sp, the Kanzi cam will make a return soon; don't know if it will be this next blog, or the one after that!

Iceland, ycd? I'm not sure about that. The current pic shows that it's dark there, but it's in early afternoon in Iceland at the moment! Beats me!

That's OK, Alley! I'm sure it's worth the wait!

White rabbits back atcha, Sandi! They use a bleaching agent for almost 100% of white flour made. You may want to try unbleached white flour, which is the same as regular flour. Some say it has better flavor than bleached.

Wab, at least locally, we're not in as critical drought as you are, so we don't need as much! It'll be here soon enough!

Good morning, Tony!

Ylee,

Wishing you White Rabbits, White Rabbits, White Rabbits
and a FUN and SAFE month of September!

PS - hope your allergies are improving.
And as to white flour - it is something in the way they process the flour to make it white I am allergic to, and allergic is the wrong word I suppose, it brings on my IBS. Brown and wholemeal, in small amounts, I can tolerate. As I dislike all oily fish, I have no idea whether I am allergic to tuna or not!
I will have the odd portion of cod, in the form of "Fish and Chips" !!!

Hi Ylee! Thanks for dredging up my blog.
I've been a bad blog-buddy, lately!
I like your "new" cams and have to say I'm hoping you bring back the savannah cam next time. I saw a troop of Baboons there just a couple days before you switched and just sat and stared - it was so cool :)
Hope Isaac is as kind to you as Gomer Pyle always was to everyone! He's done enough damage, anyway (Isaac, not Gomer, LOL).

I was wondering when Isaac would get up your way! Sociable feller, ain't he? Likes to spread the joy around.

Our flooding was only that one day: Tuesday. We've had some more rain since but in much more manageable amounts.

The suns's shining now! At least, I think that's what it's called. lol

Muggy as heck, though. So much moisture out there.

ycd, the Greenpeace ship in question is the Arctic Sunrise, not the Esperanza. I'm sure there's good reason the Esperanza is docked where it is. But it's clearly not in the Arctic! :)

Good morning! The remnants of Isaac have arrived, as we have cloudy skies, with a brief shower this morning! More rain to follow, I'm sure!

Davis Bayou is still down; a cow was back at the salt block earlier. I have a feeling this may be intentional, as farmers will take down electric fencing and move cows around to newer pastures. If this is the case,(and the fact that feeding deer during hunting season is illegal in most states) this phase of the feeder cam may be over until hunting season is over! :(

Will start working on a new blog tomorrow; no new ideas, just a general re-do! I have an idea or two for a theme in mind, but I don't have the cams to back them up yet!

Alley, I can't see the pic! I have your image file as http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s229/lanoix01/d enalarge.jpg. No "mil" in it! Sorry!

I'll take all the good vibes I can get, Pros! I haven't been around here much lately, either! :( Hopefully, I can get back on track soon!

Good afternoon! Working OT again today; Didn't think I had much of a chance of posting, as the breakroom computer was being hogged by several. However, the guy that works my job on this shift went home at 3, so guess where I'll be untik 7? :)

Getting kinda hot today, temps have been in the mid 90s. Oh, I see NOW they have Isaac curving south, causing us to have a potential 4-5 inches over the weekend! Better than La., though, so I'm not complaining!

Eye is better, though still not 100$ yet. I should be back to normal by the weekend!

Did the Davis Bayou cam get knocked out too? Perdido is back online, but heavily gunked, so I'm not going to put it back up. Probably start a new blog this week, anyway.

GG, I guess we'll be seeing something from Isaac by tomorrow. They change the QPF forecast every day, so who knows how much we'll get! Glad you got some rain!

Hi, bug! Moo! :) This has happened to me several times in the past, usually when I've beeen messing around a lot of cut grass under dry conditions! Usually lasts for a few days, but this time it bothered me more because I couldn't look at a computer screen for more than a few minutes!

Hi, Trauma! Hope your area was spared by Isaac!

Hi, Alley! No evidence of cows this afternoon; see a few birds pecking around, so there must be something there!

Can't wait to see your Denali capture!

Sandi, you're allergic to white flour? You must be very careful of what you eat! :( Wasps, I can understand! Sardines? What would be in sardines that isn't in tuna?

Hey, Todd!
