I know there are plenty of other, active blogs from the Carolinas - but at least it gives me something current to replace the "old" news in previous blog.

I don't see snow for us; just rain and some cooler temps.

There is one night that has a low of 36 listed with chance of some precip but maybe it will be cooler for you. Which might explain possible snow flurries in your forecast.

Chance of snow for early Friday????????

I captured a screenshot (put don't recall how to post it here) -- don't expect to see that again in the forecast. Really? Happy Spring!

Hello... I guess my ears were burning, or whatever the "saying" is. I popped in and checked my blog, not expecting to see anyone.
We did get rain Monday but it was steady, not a big dump like yours, bug. I was mall shopping in Myrtle Beach, and at least the rain was late - and I didn't get too wet.

Merry Christmas from me also!!

Sandi, I'm afraid that Isaac doesn't know proper manners about knocking quietly.

Even if it is not coming to my area, I get pretty consumed with the watching and waiting. The thing with Isaac and most hurricanes is that there is a journey with effects all along the way - while you anticipate the next place to be affected. Stressful for me and I'm out of the cone on this one. I really feel for those who MUST be watching.

Hope the big fella Isaac doesn't come knocking on your door - nor on anyone's door with anything other than a little knock! We want no big fist thumping knocks!

It's been so long since I've added photos & I hope I remember how. I have a couple to post from my vacation - not in the Carolinas, but nearby.

As a teacher, I always HAD to have a new bulletin board in my classroom each month. It looks like you are keeping my blog up-to-date in that same way. Thank you very much for taking care of it for me.

I'm watching this latest invest - I have vacation plans on the coast soon. Yes, I live on the coast and we are spending money to vacation on another part of the coast. :)

The Crosstown construction is supposed to be done, all but lining the lanes and whatnot.

We'll see whether or not the drainage is any better.

Here's the latest project update that was sent out to all employees a little while ago:

Crews worked through the weekend to finish as many of the final details as possible, and in spite of the weather, we should be ready to reopen the lanes by the end of the week. We are tentatively scheduled for final line eradication and re-striping tomorrow (Wednesday) night so if all goes well, all three lanes will be open to traffic by Thursday morning.

Please forward this email to others in your organization who may benefit from this information. Additional information is available on the project website at www.SeptimaClarkProject.com. Please direct any comments or questions to SeptimaClarkProject@charleston-sc.gov.

Hi, GardenGrrl! Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I like maps and being able to "see" where places are.

BTW, Where I live is halfway between Charleston and Myrtle Beach on that radar map.

It looks like we won't be getting any watches for our coast, but I am definitely watching with interest/curiosity to see where Beryl emerges onto the water. Looks like it will be nearby here.

According to this morning's discussion -
Beryl will have an opportunity to regain tropical storm strengh as
it accelerates and moves offshore and over the warm Gulf Stream
waters...in what should still be a relatively low shear environment.
Although the official forecast shows a tropical storm centered very
near the North Carolina coast in 36 hours...it is expected that
tropical-storm-force winds would be confined to the southeast and
offshore quadrant of the cyclone. As a result...no coastal watches
or warnings currently seem necessary.

Huri - glad you stopped by!

We were in a TS watch a few days ago, and so the message was constantly scrolling across the TV. Of course that was removed when Beryl continued on the SW track and toward Florida. So, I hope folks will realize the difference when/if we have the watch/warnings again tomorrow (?).

I do hope those in the Fla/Ga path are faring well. We know from experience that Tropical Storms can sometimes be rough.

Well, here we are with another storm on our map. I'm glad the watches (and the interruptions on TV) ended last night. I was afraid folks would be in total "ignore" by the time Beryl returns this way later in the week.

It's definitely breezy here - winds 15 - 20 mph all day. The clouds have been on and off, but mostly sunny.

Gotta love fish storms!

We didn't get much of anything here, except some more beach erosion.

The sun was out, we had light breezes and that was it.

If I hadn't known there was a storm out there, I'd never have known! LOL

Hello shore, and Scarlett!

I really think this storm was more of a "fluke" and not an indicator of "the earlies." Since it turned into a dud fishy storm - then we should hope it is a sign of what is to come.

Yes, less than 2 weeks left in the school year. Since I've left the retired lifestyle and returned to work, I can once again appreciate the anticipation of summer break!

Oh, how nice it is to see you! I've missed your photos and posts. I saw you on bug's last night, and hoped I'd find you here this morning.

I've not really looked at the forecast for Alberto yet. I just was talking with a friend about nature having the "earlies" this year, and we were wondering if that would apply to the tropical season, too. Apparently the answer is "yes".

You're almost to the end of the school year! I hardly can believe that. I'm still thinking spring, but I'd better switch to summer soon!
