Every year on Easter Sunday the Ft Myers Easter parade lines up down our neighborhood to set up. This year they are setting up in front of our house. Pictures to come later.
That's a fine shoulder your bird is perching on! Wonderful photos - it looks like everyone is having such fun, and keeping to the spirit of the day, too.
Is it dry there? I really don't have a clue what Ft. Myers is supposed to look like, but it looks less green than I imagined. Nothing wrong with the smiles on the folks, though.
I hope your day was wonderful. I'm putting together a new post that actually contains (gasp!) wildflowers AND their scientific names. Well, at least in the caption. The names of wildflowers are wonderful. One of the best ones I've found is Texas Toad-Flax. Who knew?
Have a wonderful rest of the day, and thanks for the pics. It's just nice to see people celebrating and smiling.

What fun to be able to see the parade from the comfort of your own front yard and while all the participants are fresh and full of energy. It could be a drag if you wanted to drive out somewhere, but I'm sure you knew this was coming and planned accordingly. Looks like you had a fun time of it.

Hi Shore. Yes it is very dry here ATM. Many places around me have had some good rain, enough to keep things a little greener. Its normally dry here this time of year but its been very warm for the past few months/85-90.
Hi Pros. The Parade here every year is fun. I must say that ours is a most unusual parade. There is very little to do with Easter and there is alot of um...Harsh loud music full of foul language. I have learned to overlook that aspect of the Parade and simply enjoy the gathering of neighbors. Plus I make sure and wish every group a Happy Easter.
Hi Briar Its funny you should mention planning for the Parade. Jamie had a last minute errand to run and almost didnt make it back before the roads completely closed.
Hi Pat Thanks for the good tune, and how true. All you need is Love :O)
Hi Sky. How sweet of you,Fl acclimated Watermelon seeds would be awesome! I cant save my Tomato seeds because I grow them too close together. I tried and ended up with a rather pasty flavored Tomato this year.It looked like a Lime sized ribbed Pumpkin. If you can find the seeds I might suggest you grow Aunt Rubys German Green Tomato next year. It is one of the best Tomatoes I have ever grown. That and violet Jasper. If I can find the seeds next year,I will get extra and send you some. In fact I plan on growing Rubys Green in a separate area next year so I can start saving the seeds.

I noted you and Skye exchanging recommendations on different tomato varieties. Perhaps the best selection of tomatoes I have found is Tomato Growers Supply Co.. Since they are headquartered in Fort Myers, FL, I would imagine they carry at least some varieties that do well in your area.

As for the watermelon if you can eat it, the seeds will probability germinate.
You could get them from Bountiful gardens. I think my original seed came from the dollar store, 10 packs for $1.
Next time I'm in my seed I'll try & find you a few.
