In the video above I review my latest forecast track for Irene. My danger zone for Irene sits from Wilmington, NC to Maine! All interests from North Carolina to Maine should be making preparation for a land falling Hurricane at this time. Irene will be making a move Paralleling the East Coast of the U.S and could be threatening some of the Major Cities in the Northeast.

Not looking too sporty for the East Coast.
Thank you for the update.

Right now I love the Euro track. Its been the best with Irene so far. What this means is the strongest winds will be along the North Carolina OBX to Jersey Shore to Long Island and then through New England. Watch to see where the Euro goes the next 24 hours.

I agree about the Euro...it's probably the model to watch at this point. Even a miss at North Carolina could still result in a very bad situation in New England. Folks shouldn't take their eyes off of this. Thanks Bob.

Thank you Bob.
I'm sending out the warning to everyone I know in the area, and there's plenty. I grew up in the Long Beach, NY area...

Very well explained reasoning Bob. Think the current NHC track is just about on the money. Still puzzled at the Euro, GFDL and HWRF continuing to call for a Category 4 storm near landfall/brushing of N Carolina. Not sure the environment is that conducive once the influence of the longwave trough imparts SW-erly shear on her.

Hurricane Irene Strengthening Across The Central Bahamas Today. Could Be A Major Hurricane By The End Of The Day. Forecast Models Have Shifted Slightly East Overnite Putting The North Carolina OBX, Long Island and New England in the Greatest Threat Area.

Models trending West a bit today, especially once Irene gets past North Carolina, this puts the entire East Coast from North Carolina to New England in the gut of this storm. Irene could impact the major cities from Washington to Philly to NYC to Boston this weekend. We could see one landfall across the North Carolina OBX and then another one on Long Island.
