Tuesday night...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter
Storm Watch... which is in effect from late tonight through late
Tuesday night.

* Locations... along and near the northern New Jersey shore.

* Hazard types... snow.

* Snow accumulations... 1 to 3 inches through this morning. An
additional 4 to 6 inches of snow is possible late tonight
through Tuesday night.

* Timing... the first round of snow will start to move in by the
morning commute today before tapering off around midday. The
next round of snow will develop late tonight and may mix with
rain closer to the coast. The snow may be moderate or heavy for
a period either Tuesday or Tuesday night.

* Impacts... snow will impact the morning commute with slippery
spots developing mainly on secondary or untreated roads...
bridges and overpasses as well as on sidewalks. Snow may also
impact travel especially on Tuesday and Tuesday night.

* Winds... northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph today.
Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph late tonight
into Tuesday.

* Temperatures... lower to mid 30s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

Coastal Flood Advisory, Coastal Flood Watch

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 am EST
Tuesday...
... Coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from late tonight
through Tuesday afternoon...

* location... coastal areas of New Jersey and Delaware and areas
along Delaware Bay.

* Coastal flooding... widespread minor coastal flooding is
anticipated to develop this morning with localized moderate
flooding possible at that time. Minor coastal flooding is
expected to linger through the Monday evening high tide and
into Monday night. There is the potential for widespread
moderate coastal flooding on Tuesday morning.

* Timing... the times of high tide along the New Jersey and
Delaware oceanfront are around 630 am to 730 am on Monday
morning... around 700 PM to 800 PM on Monday evening... and
around 730 am to 830 am on Tuesday morning. High tide on the
back bays... along Delaware Bay and along Raritan Bay occurs
later than the high tide on the oceanfront.

* Waves... wave heights are forecast to build to 8 to 12 feet on
the near-shore waters off Delaware and New Jersey. Waves on
Delaware Bay are expected to build to 3 to 5 feet.

* Impacts... roadway flooding is expected from Monday morning
into Monday night... especially around the times of high tide.
Widespread Road flooding and some damage to vulnerable
structures is possible on Tuesday morning. Wave action will
likely result in significant beach erosion.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for the
development of moderate tidal flooding.

Be prepared to begin taking appropriate action to protect life
and property. Follow the recommendations of local emergency
management officials. Be sure to check the latest forecast from
time to time in case a warning is issued or any new information
becomes available.
