... Lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect from 7 PM this
evening to 7 PM EST Saturday...
... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight to
9 am EST Sunday...

* snow accumulations... 3 to 5 inches are possible locally in the
most persistent lake effect bands.

* Snow beginning... this evening.

* Period of most intense snow... overnight tonight through midday
Saturday.

* Snow ending... Saturday evening.

* Wind chill... as low as 20 below due to temperatures 7 below to
13 above zero... and winds northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up
to 35 mph.

* Impacts... snow will accumulate rapidly where lake effect snow
bands persist. Visibility will be sharply reduced.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.

Venango... western Forest... Mercer... Lawrence... central Butler and
Hancock counties...

At 720 PM EST... a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from 7 miles northwest of Portageville to near Meadville to
near Westerville. Movement was southeast at 35 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph combined with periods of more intense snow
will result in dangerous driving conditions with visibilities
reduced to well below a quarter of a mile at times.
