The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
eastern Ferry County in northeastern Washington...
central Stevens County in northeastern Washington...

* until 600 PM PDT

* at 517 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
capable of producing half dollar size hail. This storm was located
12 miles west of Colville... or 61 miles west of Priest River... and
moving northeast at 20 mph.

* Locations impacted include...
Colville... Orin and Lake Ellen campground.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds... destructive hail...
deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection... move to
an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy
rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water
covers the Road.

If on or near Lake Roosevelt near Kettle Falls... get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember... lightning can strike out to
15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder... you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now.
Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm... and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for poor drainage areas
for...
east central Okanogan County in northeastern Washington...

* until 745 PM PDT

* at 445 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in
the advisory area. In excess of one inch of rain has already fallen
in some locations along Salmon Creek with minor washouts reported on
private properties.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Omak... Okanogan... north Omak... Riverside... Conconully... Alder
campground... Disautel... Loup Loup campground... Loup Loup pass and
Synarep.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.
