Tuesday July 3, 2012

Williams, OR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, for the reason that thunderstorms are most frequent during this time. Another name for this month’s Moon was the Full Hay Moon.

Thank you so much, Laura and CythiaSue.

It's a shot I was thinking about, Laura,
with the trees silhouetted against the moon.

No matter how long a zoom one has, there is
never enough.

How can you make a mostly black photo so interesting!!! I especially like how you off centered the moon. Good eye, and great shot.

About Doesiedoats

Doesiedoats

I’m a native Oregonian, born in Tillamook and reared in the greater Portland area. After working in the Bay Area in the semi-conductor industry as a Human Resources Representative, my husband and I retired in 1999, returned to Southern Oregon and settled in the Williams area. Photography interests started early on with a Kodak Box camera and later a Kodak 616 given to me by my father, a semi-professional photographer. After many years of film cameras, the advent of digital photography has expanded my interest in the hobby. My two favorite cameras are the Nikon Coolpix P500 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100. The Pacifica Gardens property has become the preferred subject of my photography because of its natural beauty. I have captured all four seasons over the past twelve years. I’m pleased to be able to share some of those photos with my WU friends. Please visit my web site via the link below.************************************************
