Staying Close To Momma

Uploaded by: Nikongranny

Saturday April 28, 2012

Shenandoah, IA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: While shooting the Egrets, I forgot about the goose family in the area. Got pretty close before I saw them. I appologized and momma was very tolerant of my getting so close. I always talk to them-thinking if they hear my voice they will ignore me. Seems to work.

I have noticed that a lot of them nesting here this spring are banded. I have thought maybe that some look a little rough and maybe they loose some feathers when they are caught to be banded?

About Nikongranny

Nikongranny

Old, retired with lots of time on my hands and a Nikon. Lucky for me, there is a park just north of town that provides me with migrating birds and sunsets. Since joining this site, I have a new appreciation for this scenic world we live in. I especially love the comments from so many great people on here.
