Northern Lights

Marquette Township, MI

Caption: The aurora was active last night....dynamic I should say. In 5 minutes it went from low on the horizon to overhead, with small areas lightening and darkening and waves of light flashing through the display. Truly spectacular. I wish all my WU friends could have been here to experience it!

This is both beautiful and technically excellent. Especially the exposure -- to capture both the color and the stars. Super job. And a well-deserved AC. congratulations.

The photo is superb, but not totally because of the northern lights. It is framed so well and the stars are twinkling through. There is a wonderful movement in the water below and there seems to be a shooting star. The tree silhouette on the right brings you down to earth and there is the textures of the rocks on the left. This is a masterpiece. Congratulations on your new AC.

Great shot Den! I was kicking myself for not picking up a replacement for my broken tripod as I watched the great show. I did get a few decent shots right in Dollar Bay last night. I couldn't believe how long the show lasted lat night.
