Thank you very much all! And yes, Auroras are VERY HIGH in altitude, in average, they're 62 miles away! (100 kilometers). Or if you prefer, a few less than 3 TIMES the Height Felix Baumgartner reached today! (24 Miles, ( or 39 kilometers))! The lowers ones are 2 TIMES LOWER than Average, and the highests ones are 4 TIMES HIGHER than Average!

You are working a lot on this site, keep the VERY good work! :) thank you also for the VIP Selection! We are reaching the solar maximum that will peak in 2013, if this Geomagnetic Storm was G3 (Severe), we will probably get a G4, even a G5 in the coming year (2013), gonna be VERY exiting! Homewer, thoses ones can alo produce global black-out, communitations failure as well as GPS and Internet included.If this day come, I will warn you of the comming treat, or Ralfo will do! Maxime, I live on the other side of the Great Lakes from you (to the south of Lake Erie, about 140 miles south in west-central Ohio), and although I have seen the Northern Lights aka aurora borealis twice in my almost sixty years of life, I've never seen it like this! Such a magnificent photo, and series. Your heart must have been racing while you were seeing and photographing this spectacular display of dancing lights in the heavens above your home! Julie in Ohio
