I started with the Coolpix 995 - now I have the Coolpix 8700 (Nikon). Great investments. But digital photography was supposed to lighten my load when I traveled. Alas, I purchased several lenses for the 995 (AND the 8700) and either never have them with me when I could really use them or have them when I wish I wasn't lugging so much stuff around... Now I covet the D100 and my daughter absconded with my 995 and sometimes even my tripod! I need to secretly get the D100 (and ALL the lenses) and tuck them away... (or at least a D40...) Seriously - this is a wonderful site for just the weather stuff alone. I'm plotting graphs using its data. I do have other hobbies and interests though; I'm not a total nerd (well okay, I'm also into HAM radio so maybe I am a geek). My daughter got me a point a shoot Nikon S550 for Christmas that I can easily take on my motorcycle (much less geekier than all that other equipment). Way cool this site is based where I was born and bred. But way cooler that I have traveled the world through your lenses and cyber-met so many wonderful people. ~lis |
