Our hike up the Appalachian Trail and onto the Boulevard Trail led us up to our overnight stop at the Mt LeConte Lodge at the very top of the mountain. The fog finally lifted near dawn to reveal a most excellent and beautiful sunrise, a great way to start our descent down the Alum Cave Bluff Trail yesterday morning. The trails lay near the border of North Carolina in the beautiful state of Tennessee.

The camp has many cabins for rental for the overnight stay, but make sure to get your reservations in very early in the year as it books up fast! |

This hike was so special. We saw a bear on the trail in front of us, had wonderful weather, gorgeous scenery, a foggy evening, a gorgeous sunrise, great food at the top in the lodge, a big rustic cabin to share with 10 friends, and saw a deer in the morning too!
